When each person received their award, they would turn to the room of people before them, and callout "Currahee" and the entire room would answer "Stands Alone". This was a very moving and emotion filled evening for everyone that was there. Now, maybe you can see why that simple roadsign in the previous picture meant so much to me. Just being there and feeling what the Currahee history and tradition means to today's soldiers as well as the retired soldiers was overwhelming.
